Outside Reading Post #1

For my outside reading book I am reading Twilight by Stephenie Myer. In Twilight there are many characters. The main character is Isabella Swan. She is the main character because she is telling her story not that of someone else. We know this because the book starts, "My mom drove me to the airport with the windows rolled down," where she is talking about herself and her mom (3). If the story had been about someone else she probably would have started by talking about them. Bella is a seventeen year old girl. She has brown hair and pail skin. She is also very accident prone. She also motivated to do things for love.
Another main character is Edward Cullen. Edward is a main character because he is the most talked about character other than Bella. Bella talks about Edward nonstop. Another reason why Edward is a main character is because he is the only character mentioned by name another back of the book. It says, "First, Edward was a vampire." Edward is a boy of seventeen. He has skin even paler than Bella's and his hair is bronze. He has a very quick temper. He is motivated by his feelings. His skin is also very cold.

Black Boy "bad" or Not

In some ways Richard is "bad" and some ways he is not. When he writes the four letter words on the windows with soap he is not "bad" because he did not know that he was not supposed to do that. On the other hand when he kills the kitten he is bad because he knew that his dad did not really want him to kill it he was just doing it to prove a point.
To begin with I think that to be "bad" is when you contentiously make a decision to do something. For example if you know that what you do is going to heart someone and do no one any good and you do it anyways it is bad. Another example is if you do something that you know that you are not supposed to do and you know you will get punished for.
A person is not bad when they do something wrong and they do not know it or there is a justification for doing it. For example, if a parent was to steal for their children who were starving from someone who had more than enough to eat they would not be bad because the person that they stole from did not need the food and their children needed the food. Another example is if a child did something wrong such as stole something from a store and they had never been told not to steal they are not bad the merely did not know that it was wrong.

Welcome to my blog. On my blog I shall be righting about books we have read in class. I am looking forward to reading "Much Ado About Nothing" most. I hope to have a good year. i hope every one else does too.
